Antique 1920s Thonet-Mundus Bentwood Armchair

Description

This elegant chair showcases the characteristic craftsmanship of Central European bentwood furniture: a gracefully curved wooden frame, gently tapered legs, a sculptural spindle back, and a beautifully shaped round wooden seat. The rich dark-brown finish has developed a wonderful aged patina, highlighting the natural grain and character of the wood.

The open, fan-shaped backrest gives the chair a particularly distinctive silhouette, while the circular lower stretcher adds both visual interest and structural support.
